Mental Health Counseling

Telehealth and In-person

I may have taken the quote "be the person you needed when you were younger" a little too seriously. Look no further if you're looking for a therapist that uses humor, is quirky, body positive, sex positive, and gives "real talk" to help you create a deeper connection to yourself.

I truly offer an eclectic approach to helping you because I know humans are complex and so is healing.

Treatment Modalities

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

A form of talk therapy that helps people improve mental health by changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, focusing on the link between thoughts, feelings, and actions.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

A structured therapy that helps people manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and reduce harmful behaviors by combining CBT with acceptance strategies. It's especially effective for emotional dysregulation.

Mindfulness

A psychological practice that involves paying attention to the present moment without judgment. It can be practiced through various techniques such as meditation or simply paying attention to everyday activities. It aims to improve mental well-being, reduce stress, and enhance emotional regulation.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

A short-term, goal-oriented therapy that focuses on building solutions rather than addressing problems. It emphasizes a client's strengths and resources to help them create positive change in the present and future.

Attachment-Based Therapy

A therapy that focuses on how early childhood experiences with caregivers can influence a person's relationships in adulthood. It helps individuals recognize and address attachment wounds, develop emotional regulation, and build more secure relationships.

Expressive-Arts Therapy

A therapy that uses visual arts, movement, music, and writing, to promote emotional growth and healing. It's a form of psychotherapy that combines psychological principles with creative processes to help individuals and groups explore their emotions and experiences

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

A type of therapy that emphasizes the importance of understanding and expressing emotions, as well as strengthening emotional connections. It aims to address psychological distress by working with the body's subtle energy systems through acupressure and body tapping.

Somatic Therapy

A type of therapy that uses awareness of one’s body, breathwork and gentle movement-based exercises to become more aware of bodily sensations. It can help people process and release trauma stored in the body.

Breathwork

A practice that involves using various breathing techniques to influence a person's mental, emotional, and physical state. It involves intentionally changing breathing patterns, often in a conscious and systematic way, to promote relaxation, energy, or other desired states.

Reiki/Energy Therapy

A complementary therapy that involves channeling a universal life force energy through gentle hand placements to promote healing and balance. As energy flows through the body, reiki practitioners aim to guide this flow to restore balance and facilitate healing.

Sound Therapy

A therapeutic practice that uses sound and vibration to influence brainwaves and the nervous system. Clients are immersed in a relaxing environment using instruments like singing bowls, tuning forks, chimes, and nature sounds, which can help with stress reduction, anxiety, pain relief, and depression.

Group Work

A collaborative experience designed to unite like-minded individuals. Each class blends some elements of CBT, Mindfulness, Expressive Arts Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Sound Therapy, and Energy Therapy within an intimate group setting. Group sizes vary from 4-8 people.
